These Terms govern your use of the Sikila mobile app and website (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using Sikila, you agree to these Terms.

1. Your Responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information and use the app only for lawful purposes. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for all activity that occurs under your account.

2. Intellectual Property & Usage Restrictions

To protect the proprietary technology and design of Sikila:

  • Ownership: The Service, including its original content, features, functionality, software code, user interface, and visual design ("look and feel"), is the exclusive property of Sikila LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and laws of the State of Wyoming and the United States.

  • Restrictions: You agree NOT to:

    • Copy, modify, or create derivative works based on the Sikila design or code.

    • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.

    • Use any automated system (robots, scrapers) to access the Service.

  • Pilot & Beta Confidentiality: If you are accessing the Service as part of a Pilot Program or Beta Test (e.g., prior to official public launch), you acknowledge that the Service contains Confidential Information. You agree not to disclose, share screenshots, or publicly disseminate details regarding unreleased features or designs without prior written permission from Sikila.

3. Not Medical Advice

Sikila is not a medical device. The content, tracking features, and insights are for general wellness and informational purposes only. We do not diagnose, treat, or cure any medical condition. Always consult a healthcare professional for medical advice. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read on Sikila.

4. Account and Data, and our Mission

You own your data and can delete your account at any time via App Settings. Deletion is permanent. By using Sikila and logging your symptoms, you grant Sikila LLC a perpetual license to use your logs in a completely anonymous, grouped format. We use this anonymous data to operate the app, fund our platform, and partner with healthcare organizations to advance Sickle Cell treatments. Your personal identity (name, email) is never shared.

5. Limits of Liability

We strive to ensure the app operates reliably. However, Sikila is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sikila LLC is not liable for:

  • Any indirect or consequential damages arising from your reliance on the app.

  • Data loss due to device issues, network failures, or errors caused by third parties.

  • Temporary interruptions or service outages.

6. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally to reflect changes in our service or laws. Continued use of the app after any changes means you accept the updated Terms.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding relating to your access to or use of the Service shall be instituted in a state or federal court in Wyoming.

Sikila LLC has appointed Data Protection Representative Limited (trading as DataRep) as its Legal Representative in the European Union for the purposes of the Digital Services Act.
